2023 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT

September 15th

We are just a few days away from our first week of fall practice!!!! I am excited, if you cannot tell. Since the last email I sent out, we welcomed a few new additions to the team rosters. We had to make two adjustments to the team rosters, and those parents have been notified of the change. To help create balance in age groups, we had to make the switch. Okay, on to the good stuff…

Practice Information:

What will practice be like? We encourage parent-coaches to stay if possible, and help shuttle. Practices are one hour long, and it’s fast pace. We begin each practice with check-in. That will take place in the Banquet Room. I will then go over the practice itinerary and then we will head to our practice locations. Again, if your child is unavailable to attend their designated team practice day, they are invited to join us on another day.

Golf Cart Access for Matches:As for the matches, our biggest concern each year is that we have a limited supply of golf carts for parents to rent (parents do not have to rent a cart for practice). Please be prepared for having to wait on a cart, or even walk. Hopefully we will not have that issue, but it’s possible. Hopefully the weather will be nice and cool, like it usually is in the fall, and offer us all a great chance to walk with our kids. *We will hold enough carts for each group to have at least two to three carts. Parents will be asked to pair up with two spectators per cart. If you have your own cart, you may bring it. We have plenty of room in the parking lot to park your trailer.

*Practice begins the week of Monday, September 18th. I will send a confirmation uniform size hopefully later today or this evening. I am available next week if any of you would like to bring your junior golfers to the course for a quick lesson or club fitting. ** Included in this year’s entry fee is 9 weeks of practice, 6 matches, team polo, team pullover, and hat, use of all practice facilities during scheduled practices, on-course practice and play, and an awards banquet following the final playoff match in December.

Greetings parents,

Welcome to the Brent Belton Golf Academy Fall Junior Golf League at Bay Pointe Golf & Country Club! My name is Kyle Boteler. I am the Director of Junior Golf Development at the Academyand will be your league director once again this season. I am humbled by the amount of support over the first five seasons, especially the first season when we kicked this off! Some of you may have children that have participated every season and that is truly incredible and we thank you for your support. This year we are welcoming 48 junior golfers from ages 7 to 15…. and wow is all I can say! This is our largest field ever! I would like to thank Hartfield Academyfor their efforts in getting this out to their school’s families. I also want to thank the Northwest Rankin High School golf coaches for spreading the word as well.

A brief history on how this all came together… I fell in love with the concept of the U.S. Kids Team Golf, and PGA Junior League years ago. I was an assistant captain for three seasons with the PGA Junior League, and loved every bit of the experience. I saw first how kids enjoyed the fellowship and sportsmanship that comes with team play, and meet new friends that helped create a love for the game. I was able to see parents enjoying the game of golf on a whole new level, as they coached their junior golfers from tee to green.

And while I think both are still phenomenal programs, I felt like they did not include everyone. That’s not who I am. I want everyone to play, for everyone to belong to something special, and I couldn’t have found a better place than right here at Bay Pointe working alongside Mr. Brent Belton. It is because of Brent and his dedication to junior golf that we are able to have this each year, and I know many of you look forward to this just as much as we do. So thank you again for your support in participation. Our goal is to deliver an experience that will help enrich your child in so many positive ways. Parents, THANK YOU for your support!

It will go over everything from what to expect, format, league, rules and waiver, practice dates, and your child’s team. Registration is available through Thursday, August 31st, 2023: Online Registration Only – link below

The Brent Belton Golf Academy is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2023 Fall Junior Golf Academy Cup Season! The Academy Cup is for aspiring junior golfers, ages 6-15 years old. A membership at Bay Pointe Golf & Country Club is not required to enroll your child into the annual fall league. The Fall season will begin in October, and finish around the mid December (Weather permitting). All match days will be scheduled on Sunday afternoons, beginning at 2:00 pm. Team rosters, practice times, and league schedule will all be released and emailed to parents immediately after the conclusion of registration.

The league allows kids to practice and compete with other like skill level golfers, while playing in a fun 9-hole format. The Academy Cup is designed to introduce our students to competitive golf, elevate our junior golfer’s playing experience, improve social skills to our little ones, encourage teamwork, and leadership roles while playing. Parents will be able to coach and caddie in the league matches as well.

Registration deadline is Thursday, August 31st! The league will begin immediately after registration is complete. A schedule will be posted on the tournament page immediately after registration. Entry Fee: $175 per child

Entry fee includes and includes team uniforms, league matches, team practices, and a championship playoff final! Parents must provide equipment for their child. If you are need of equipment please email Kyle.

Rules of Play: Scramble Format

Once registration is complete, players will be divided into teams with equal golfing abilities and ages. The league will consist of a round-robin with other league teams. Each league match will be in pairings of 2v2, 2v3, 3v2, or 3v3 matches. Points will be awarded for each hole won (3 points) or tied (1 point). No points will be awarded for a loss of a hole. At the end of the season, a playoff will be created to determine a league champion. Congratulations to the 2022 Legends team for winning the regular season and playoffs championship last year!

Match Schedule:

We will use tee times on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons at 2:00 pm to prevent large gatherings in one or more locations. Parents will have their child’s tee times and match pairings emailed on Thursday of each week.

Practice Schedule:

Practices will be scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, during the week of the league events only. Kyle will coordinate the practice schedule, and will email parents of their team’s practice days.

Additional Fees:

Spectators and non-members of Bay Pointe Golf & Country Club will be charged $20 per person to rent a club cart for all matches.
